Ekaterinburg Non-Ferrous Metals Processing Plant JSC published the book of its honored employee Viktor Borodin “MY STORY. MY PLANT”.

The most interesting events in the life of the Yekaterinburg non-ferrous metal processing plant.

Ekaterinburg Non-Ferrous Metals Processing Plant JSC (EZOCM JSC) has published the book, written by Viktor D. Borodin, who is the Chief Designer of Glass Melting Devices, the most experienced specialist and inventor.

Viktor Borodin has been working at our enterprise for 48 years (since 1971). He made an invaluable contribution to the development of such a large area as the production of glass-melting devices and die feeders for the production of glass and basalt fibers of various standard sizes. Moreover, inventions made by Viktor Borodin have determined the vector of development of the entire industry manufacturing this product. It is no coincidence that one of the Russian enterprises, with which Viktor Borodin has been cooperating for many years (with which his son, a talented engineer Denis Borodin, is cooperating now), is the global leader in basalt fiber production.

The book written by Viktor Borodin belongs to the genre of autobiography, though not in its pure form. When talking about his life, Viktor Borodin pays much attention to the history of the glass and basalt fiber production industry in Russia and abroad, as well as to the history of the company, to which he has devoted most of his life. The historical essay carefully and unobtrusively weaves Viktor Borodin’s story about his own inventions, based on which the largest domestic industrial enterprises have grown up.

“I didn't come up with anything better than to tell a little bit about everything. To tell about myself, my childhood and youth, hobbies, first years of my employment and key inventions. I also described the facts related to the development of the Russian and global glass and basalt fiber production industry, as well as our company contribution to it. Finally, I decided to combine the history of my life with that of EZOCM. I thought it was the right thing to do, because our fates really turned out to be connected”, – Viktor Borodin writes.

“Ekaterinburg Non-Ferrous Metals Processing Plant JSC is the company, which is widely known as the founder and the leader of the Russian industry producing precious metals and related products. This status has been earned due to the hard work of many generations of unique people - inventors and innovators. The work of stout-hearted people, who don’t shrink from any difficulties. The book tells the story of such a person - Viktor Borodin - who is the design engineer, a real professional, an inventor, a veteran of production, a witness and a direct participant of EZOCM JSC development for many decades. Viktor Borodin provides a thorough introduction of not only development of one of the key areas of the plant, manufacturing of die feeders for basalt fiber production and glass melting devices for fiberglass production, but also gives a detailed picture of the social life of the company's employees in different periods of its history. I’m sure, that this book will reveal to the reader another interesting aspect of the history of one of the oldest Russian industrial enterprises”, – Alexander Andreev, General Director of EZOCM JSC, told.

In addition to the author's text, the book “MY STORY. MY PLANT” includes opinions on Viktor Borodin provided by managers and employees not only of EZOCM JSC but also of many enterprises (including foreign ones), who order and buy glass-melting devices and die feeders. Reference materials on the key products and services of EZOCM JSC will be useful for those who are going to get acquainted with the plant.
