Employee of EZOCM JCS Has Become Award-Winner of International Chemistry Conference
The XX International Scientific and Practical Conference of Students and Young Scientists named after Prof. L.P. Kulyev “Chemistry and Chemical Technology in the 21st Century” organized by Tomsk State University was held in Tomsk from May 20, 2019 till May 23, 2019.
This conference gathered together 488 participants from 12 countries and 53 cities. More than 300 presentations were made in all fields of chemistry and chemical technology.
Ekaterinburg Non-Ferrous Metals Processing Plant JSC was represented by Ivan Sandalov, Leading Research Engineer, who made a presentation “Extraction of Platinum-Group Metals and Rhenium from Iron-Bearing Rocks Obtained Using the Plasma Melting Technology”. His presentation was highly appreciated by participants of the Conference, and he was awarded a Level II Diploma.
“My work deals with deployment of the plasma melting technology of iron-bearing rocks with spent catalysts. I present data obtained in the process of examination of iron-bearing rocks with an electronic microscope, which was performed to study their morphology and phase and chemical composition. On the basis of this data we did research and developed a processing technology for this material, and found solutions for its optimization and deployment in the production process”, says Ivan Sandalov.
