EZOCM is planning to increase the export of its products to Uzbekistan
At the end of December 2018 representatives of Ekaterinburg Non-Ferrous Metals Processing Plant JSC (EZOCM JSC, a company of PLAURUM international group) paid a business visit to Uzbekistan. During the visit a number of negotiations with the country’s major industrial enterprises took place. For instance, the EZOCM JSC’S representatives have met with the representatives of a continuous basalt fiber production plant, two mining and metallurgical integrated works, and a cement production plant.
“We have discussed supply of laboratory glassware, reference materials, thermal converters made of precious metals with the representatives of mining and metallurgical enterprises and the cement production plant. Also, the capabilities of EZOCM’S Central Analytical Laboratory have been presented. Its testing and analyses methods have stirred the prospective customers’ interest. The main production facilities of these enterprises are focused on the gold and silver mining. We are interested in the precious metals procurement for the needs of the plant and in the provision of affinage services. The enterprises are also interested in recycling the accumulated industrial waste with the precious metals content”, – said Alexander Andreev, Director General of EZOCM JSC.
“The continuous basalt fiber production plant is already our customer. We supply them with die feeders. We have discussed the further production plans of this plant and, consequently, the prospects of further cooperation”, he added.
According to Alexander Andreev, the prospects are that in the coming years EZOCM JSC may increase the volume of the product export to Uzbekistan at least 2 to 2.5-fold. This is due to the fact that the Uzbek Government intends to facilitate the precious metals trade. The Government is currently preparing the proposals for providing the precious metals manufacturers with the right to purchase the precious metals and the precious stones from the legal entities that mine and produce them under the direct contracts. The proposals will also concern the weighted precious metals bars sales management.
It should be noted that the Republic of Uzbekistan ranks fourth in the world by the gold reserves and seventh by its production level. The preliminary expert analysis shows that there are over 70 gold deposits in the country, and the reserves are over 3 thousand tons.
