EZOCM JSC continues to upgrade the production facilities
The production facilities renewal and upgrading is one of the priority development areas for Ekaterinburg Non-Ferrous Metals Processing Plant JSC. New modern equipment is commissioned every year, which increases the efficiency and competitiveness of the company on both domestic and foreign markets.
Employees of EZOCM JSC have performed the preliminary acceptance of the rotary forging equipment system manufactured by SchumacherTech as a part of the equipment upgrading project implementation. The system is designed for hot forging of rods made of iridium, rhodium and alloys thereof which are used in medicine, engine building and automobile industry.
The system includes a rotary forging machine and a heating tube furnace.
The heating furnace warms up the billets before the forging (the forging is performed in warm condition, at a temperature above 1,200 degrees C). The furnace provides stabilization for the rod heating process to increase the uniformity of the finished wire mechanical properties.
The rotary forging machine is designed to forge the rods made of iridium, rhodium and alloys thereof having diameter of up to 2.5 mm. This assembly is equipped with specially designed strikers* for our alloys which increases dramatically the quality of the surface and minimizes the number of surface defects.
“The rotary forging equipment system is the continuation of the iridium and rhodium wire production area renewal. Previously, the new drawing machine had already been commissioned and the old one had been upgraded. This equipment will allow us to increase the production capacity and the quality of the products” said Alexander Pervukhin, the Technologist Engineer of EZOCM JSC.
According to the plan, the rotary forging equipment system will be commissioned in October 2019.
* Strikers are specially-designed tools which deform the rods (designed for hot forging to meet the requirements of EZOCM JSC).
