Ekaterinburg Non-Ferrous Metals Processing Plant JSC took part in the major Russian-Korean business forum held on June 22 in Moscow. The event coincided with the visit of the President of the Republic of Korea Moon Jae-in to the Russian Federation. The organizers of the event were the Korean International Trade Association (KITA), the Korean Trade-Investment Promotion Agency (KOTRA), the Roscongress Foundation and the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Russia.

The forum discussed the opportunities to increase the volume of trade between Russia and the Republic of Korea, the development of South Korean business in our country, cooperation in the field of logistics and transport, etc.  

As the Head of Precious Metals Management Departmentof EZOCM JSC, Aleksei Shchukin noted, the South Korean market is of great interest for the plant in terms of exports, and participation in the forum served as a basis for establishing contacts with different companies of the Republic.

"All potentially interesting large corporations, such as Samsung, Hyundai, etc. were represented by top managers as the guests who did not participate in the Contacts Exchange. Many companies in the course of communication revealed the need for precious metals. Negotiations were held with a Korean producer of nitrogen fertilizers, a potential buyer of catalytic systems, and a company that produces construction materials. The latter is interested in setting up supplies of spot metals, mainly gold. We will work out this opportunity in the near future," said Aleksei Shchukin.

It was extremely useful for the company to communicate with the organizers of the forum - the agency KOTRA, which, in fact, is the trade representative of the Republic of Korea in Russia.

"We provided representatives of the agency with information about the plant, its products and services," added Aleksei Shchukin. "We have indicated that we need entry on large concerns of the Republic that produce cars, electronics and other products that require precious metals. We were promised to help in developing such communication."

A meeting was also held with representatives of the Roscongress Foundation, this organization is involved in the preparation of many business events around the world, including the highest level of summits, for example, the World Economic Forum in Davos. We reached the following agreement: if the agency understands that we may be interested in some of the participants of these events and vice versa, we will receive either an invitation to participate or help with getting contacts." Thus, further communication with representatives of South Korean business EZOCM JSC will continue in the framework of other business events.
