Platinum (IV) Nitrate
Platinum nitrate is manufactured and supplied by EZOCM JSC as a solution, which is a red-brown liquid.
Chemical formula for platinum nitrate: Pt(NO3)4.
Platinum nitrate is used in the production of vehicle exhaust gas catalytic converter, for producing of platinum dioxide (Adams' catalyst), for the synthesis of platinum-based compounds.
Platinum nitrate solution is produced in a variety of types that differ by the content of rated impurity elements. The list of rated impurity elements in platinum nitrates can be changed upon agreement with the manufacturer.
Mass fraction of platinum and impurities (in relation to platinum) in platinum nitrate shall meet the requirements specified in the Table 1 below.
Table 1 - Mass fraction of platinum and impurities in platinum nitrate.
Name | Mass fraction, % | |||||
Platinum | Mass fraction of impurities in relation to platinum, not more than, %
Palladium, rhodium, iridium, ruthenium (total mass fraction)* | Copper, silver, silicon(total mass fraction)** | Sodium | Phosphorus | Chloride ion
Platinum (IV) Nitrate Solution | 6,0-20,0 | 0.050 | 0.050 | 0.150 | 0.070 | 0.800 |
* Mass fraction of each impurity in relation to platinum, not more than, %***: 0,030. ** Mass fraction of impurities in relation to platinum, not more than, %: copper - 0,015; silver - 0,015; silicon - 0,020. |
Platinum (IV) Nitrate Solution is packaged in bottles, jars, canisters made of polymeric material.
The storage life of platinum nitrate is 1 year.
